Baptism Sunday

Time to let the world know you follow Jesus!

Time to let the world know you follow Jesus!

On Sunday, October 5th, we will be celebrating baptisms and baby dedications at Calvary.

If you are interested in taking this step of faith—or having your child dedicated—please fill out this form, watch the video, and hit "submit" so we can walk you through both the spiritual meaning and the practical details.

Why Baptism?

Baptism is a beautiful picture of the gospel. It doesn’t save you, but it shows outwardly what God has done inwardly. In baptism, we publicly confess our faith in Christ, identify with His death and resurrection, and declare that our life belongs to Him.

Here are a few Scriptures that explain baptism:

  • Matthew 28:19–20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
  • Acts 2:38 – “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Romans 6:4 – “We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

What About Baby Dedication?

At Calvary, we do not baptize infants. Instead, we dedicate babies and young children to the Lord, just as Hannah dedicated Samuel (1 Samuel 1:27–28) and Mary and Joseph presented Jesus at the temple (Luke 2:22).

Baby dedication is a public act where parents commit to raise their child in the ways of the Lord, and the church family commits to support them with prayer, encouragement, and love.

If baptism or baby dedication is the next step for you or your family, I’d love to hear from you. Just fill out the form.

Let’s rejoice together in what God is doing!
